How Marklo helps Maya Brenner keep marketing on track
A major paid-media failure caught before it compounded
Marklo unified paid, email, and Shopify data so a two-person marketing team could see real-time performance instead of piecing together disconnected agency reports.
"I couldn't have seen it without Marklo."
Maya Brenner Designs started in 1998, when founder Maya Brenner began wire-wrapping jewelry as a way to unwind from a stressful job as a social worker in New York. A custom necklace she made for her mother's birthday turned into a full line, and by 2001 she'd moved the brand to Los Angeles, where her personalized 14K gold pieces, including her now-iconic state necklaces, found their way onto Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Meghan Markle. Today Maya Brenner Designs runs on Shopify Plus out of the Jewelry District in Downtown LA, with a marketing team of two.
Inheriting thin marketing infrastructure
When a new CMO stepped in, she inherited a brand running on thin marketing infrastructure. Their paid media efforts sat with an outside agency, operating its own playbook with little visibility into overall results. Having their other marketing channels running on separate systems made figuring out what was causing a dip in sales extremely difficult. There was no fast or clear way to tell which campaigns were driving the most impact.
One real-time read on marketing
Marklo became the instrument that restored that visibility. With paid, email, and Shopify data unified in one place, the new CMO finally had a single, real-time read on marketing instead of a stack of disconnected agency reports.
From reactive to proactive
That visibility was possible because Marklo brought together the pieces that used to live scattered across the agency's own reporting. Unified marketing channels gave the team a single source of truth on performance instead of everything being siloed. Campaign recommendations gave the team new ideas to bring to their agency to execute. Historical performance tracking that used to mean manually collecting data for a deck was now available to review in minutes, giving the team a fast read on what's actually working. Changing the team's overall mindset from reactive to proactive helped them avoid costly mistakes with their ad agency and across other channels as well.
Catching the SOS before it compounded
That real-time pacing view is what let the team catch a major paid-media failure before the next campaign cycle, giving them time to correct spend and get back on track.
"I was able to identify that our ad agency didn't go back to our normal pacing... Meta was not firing at all. So I was able to identify that via the Marklo AI app. It was a big SOS. It was a big catch." Tristan Brando, CMO, Maya Brenner
For a two-person marketing team leaning on an outside agency to run a seven-figure ad budget, catching that failure before it compounded was the difference between a bad quarter and a much worse one.
