Marklo MCP Setup Guide

Marklo MCP Setup Guide

The Marklo MCP server is available to everyone on a paid Marklo plan.

The Marklo Model Context Protocol (MCP) server lets AI models and agents access and interact with your Marklo data through a standardized interface.

Connect it to Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, Cursor, or any other MCP-compatible tool to read your campaign, calendar, and channel context — and turn answers into campaigns, briefs, and recaps — without leaving your AI client.

Permissions & access

The Marklo MCP server is available on all paid Marklo plans. Data access mirrors the permissions you already have in Marklo, so you’ll see the same data through the MCP server that you see in the app.

Authentication

The MCP server authenticates each user individually via OAuth. Every user completes their own OAuth flow during setup, so the server only returns data that the user can already see in Marklo. A user cannot query campaigns, calendars, or reports they don’t otherwise have access to in the app.

Set up your MCP client

The Marklo MCP server is client-agnostic and works with any MCP-compatible tool. The server URL is:

https://mcp.marklo.com/v1

Note: this URL is only used by MCP clients. Opening it directly in a browser will show an error, which is expected.

Select your client below for setup instructions. During setup, you’ll see an approval screen listing the permissions the MCP server requests: reading your campaign, calendar, and channel context, and creating briefs on your behalf. Click Approve to continue.

Claude

  1. Connect your data to Marklo — Connect Marklo to Shopify, Klaviyo, and paid channels so your campaign context is ready.

  2. Add Marklo MCP to Claude — In the Marklo App, go to Capabilities → MCPs, copy the link, and download the skills. In Claude, go to Connectors → Add Custom Connector → paste your code.

  3. Upload Skills — Claude → Customize → Skills. Upload the zip file you downloaded before. Skills tell Claude how to use Marklo the right way.

  4. Enable Permissions — Claude → Customize → Connectors → Marklo. Enable all permissions.

  5. Start planning — Ask Claude grounded planning questions and turn answers into campaigns, briefs, and recaps.

ChatGPT

  1. Connect your data to Marklo — Connect Marklo to Shopify, Klaviyo, and paid channels so your campaign context is ready.

  2. Add Marklo MCP to ChatGPT — In the Marklo App, go to Capabilities → MCPs and copy the link. In ChatGPT, go to Settings → Connectors → Add Custom Connector and paste your link.

  3. Enable Developer Mode — ChatGPT → Settings → Connectors → Advanced. Turn on Developer Mode so ChatGPT can use Marklo tools inside your chats.

  4. Upload Skills — Toggle from Plugins to Skills. Press the + button and upload the skills file.

  5. Enable Permissions — Under Marklo’s plugin, click Permissions → Allow all.

Copilot

  1. In Copilot, open Settings → Connectors and add Marklo as a custom MCP server with the server URL above.

  2. Complete the OAuth flow when prompted.

  3. Ask Copilot to list its available Marklo tools to confirm the connection.

Cursor and other IDEs

  1. Open Cursor Settings → Tools & MCPs → New MCP server.

  2. Paste the following into your configuration:

    { "mcpServers": { "marklo": { "url": "https://mcp.marklo.com/v1" } } }

  3. Save and restart Cursor. When you use a Marklo tool for the first time, complete the OAuth flow to connect your workspace.

Usage limits

To keep Marklo fast and reliable, some detailed exports through the MCP server count toward your plan’s monthly limits. Lightweight lookups don’t count; full campaign or product exports do.
